MURLINK and its textile chain made of Dyneema®, the strongest man-made fibre in the world.
MURLINK has developed and industrialised an automated process for the production of textile chains using Dyneema® fibre.
Dyneema fibre is an ultra-lightweight and extremely strong material developed by DSM Dyneema. This fibre stands out for its high strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for applications that require high strength without sacrificing lightness. Dyneema fibre is used in a variety of industries, from marine and aerospace to textiles and medicine.
Murlink textile chain offers the alternative to grade 80 and 100 lifting chains in diameters from 8 to 22mm. One strand of textile chain can lift a working load limit of 18 tonnes. With a 4-strand octopus it can reach a working load limit of 37.8 tonnes.
Advantages of textile chain for lashing and securing loads
- Strength: Dyneema fibre is up to 15 times stronger than steel, making it ideal for applications requiring high strength.
- Lightness: 80%. lighter than a metal chain of equal strength. Optimises the weight of the load and the elements that move it, saving on fuel and operations.
- Safe: Its flexibility and softness ensure less risk of damaging loads.
- Design: MURLINK’s Dyneema fibre textile chain can be designed to meet the specific needs of each application, easy to shorten and easily adaptable to the size of use.
- Durability: It has an increased durability because it does not rust and is highly resistant to abrasion and cuts.
- Efficient: Reduces loading and unloading time by up to 50% per operation. Easily adjustable
Sustainability: Dyneema fibre is a sustainable material that can be recycled and reused, reducing its environmental impact.
